Workshop on Interdisciplinary Mathematics
114 and 113 McAllister Building
May 10 – 11, 2010
TRAVEL: The closest airport that serves the State College/University Park area had the code SCE. Since NSF funds may be used for reimbursement, please use a US carrier (otherwise we may not be able to reimburse this expense). If you plan to include other business travel as part of your visit to Penn State, please be aware that Penn State will only reimburse a direct flight (connecting flights are ok) unless a comparison is done to determine that a multi-legged trip is less expensive. Please print out a copy of the comparison at the time of ticket purchase and bring it with you.
LODGING: There is a block of rooms set aside at the Sleep Inn, under the "Math Dept" group name. The number is 814 235 1020. The cutoff date for hotel reservations is SUNDAY, APRIL 25, 2010. Please pay for your lodging at the hotel.
REIMBURSEMENTS (for invited speakers): Please see Hope Shaffer to complete the necessary forms.
ORIGINAL RECEIPTS ARE REQUIRED. We will do reimbursement processing after you have mailed us your original lodging receipt (room & tax only).
IMPORTANT: If you are a foreign national, please remember to bring your passport/visa papers, etc. with you to the conference so copies can be made.
I will need to prepare a letter requesting permission from your responsible officer of your host institution. This permission request needs to be submitted PRIOR to your attending the conference (if the letter is not done prior to your attending the conference, the host institution can deny Penn State approval to reimburse your expenses).
Information for Visitors: http://www.math.psu.edu/visitors/info.php
TAXI: For those of you that are arriving at the airport and need transportation to your hotel, the Handy Delivery (24,7) taxi service's phone number is 353-6003 and costs around $15.00 or less or the Nittany Express (5am-12:30am, 7 days) Airport Shuttle's phone number is 867-4646.
PARKING: If you need to park your car on campus, you will need a permit Monday through Friday; Saturday and Sunday are free. (Please let me know if you need me to fax [include your fax number] or send you a .pdf file of a map where to locate the various locations listed below.) Here are your options:
*You may obtain a one day parking permit at either the Visitor Center that is near Beaver Stadium or at the University Parking Office that is on the
first level of the Eisenhower Parking Garage. The cost is $6.00/day and you will be able to choose if you want to park at the East Deck or Eisenhower Parking Deck (closest to the HUB). Cash only.
*You may go to the kiosk (at the north side; not where it says about yellow permits) at the HUB parking deck. The cost is $.75/hour. You would get a ticket prior to parking and you would pay upon departure. Cash only.
If you wish to fax us your registration you may download a registration form here. Our fax number is: (814) 865-3735.
