My name in Chinese is 薛 江维 (Xue Jiangwei), "Xue" is pronounced like "syue".
I am a graduate student in the Mathematics Department at Penn State. Currently I am working on my thesis under the guidance of professor Yuri Zarhin. My research interest include algebraic geometry, abelian varieties in particular, and number theory. I got my bachelor's degree from Nanjing University in China.
In my free time I study Japanese. It is a lot of fun. Sometimes it feels like I am rediscovering Chinese and learning a new language both at the same time.
I like playing table tennis and recently start to play tennis.
Teaching
My previous teaching includes Math110, Math141, Math220 and Math230. In spring 2008, I am teaching Math230, section 007.

correction
In problem 7 of "Dec 2005", the correct answer should be "B". The gradient should be <2,-6,2> instead of <0,-6,2>. Sorry about this.Homework Assignments
These are the homework problems I assigned during my previous teaching. They are posted here only for the purpose of reducing the painful task of picking problems from the long list of suggested homeworks. A student is still suppose to know all material covered in class and able to solve all type of questions from the suggested homework.
