The FASP Package:

The Fast Auxiliary Space Preconditioning (FASP) package is an ongoing project that I lead.  It consists of geometric and algebraic multigrid methods and their applications, including:
  • complex fluids
  • fluid and structure interaction
  • subsurface flow
  • artificial heart pump simulation
  • electromagnetics
  • magnetohydrodynamics
  • fuel cells
  • solar cells
  • PNP equations
  • reservoir simulation

The Design Principle of FASP

  • Is based on the properties of the mathematical model
  • Uses available physical, analytic, and geometric information
  • Combines geometric and algebraic solvers
  • Is robust with respect to mesh size and physical parameters
