Teaching

This semester I will be teaching Math 017 and will be the teaching assistant for Math 502. The links go to specific webpages for each course.

I have also taught Math 041, Math 220 and Math 021 at Penn State.

Research

I am studying as part of the geometric functional analysis group at Penn State. There is also a student GFA seminar.
My advisor is John Roe.

My research interests centre on group theory, geometry and index theory, and particularly on the interplay between these. The specific problems and techniques that I study usually come from non-commutative geometery, operator algebras, and K-theory.

I have written expository articles on:

These were written to a large extent to aid my understanding of each subject, but anyone who might find them useful is welcome to download them; I should add that the piece on property (T) almost certainly contains mistakes. The piece on property (A) has been refereed (and accepted for publication in the Proceedings of the special semester "Limits of graphs in group theory and computer science"), so should be (relatively) error-free.
