Welcome to my little piece of turf in the Cyberspace. Before you proceed you should ask yourself this very important question: "Do I really want to waste my time reading this moron's homepage?" If your answer is "not in my life", here is your chance to leave.

Proceed at your own risk!

So I see that you have chosen to ignore my warning. Very well, I guess you will find out whether your choice is a wise one soon enough. But remember that you have been forewarned. So any boredom, or other harm to your well-being, will be your own fault.

Well, since it is customary to introduce oneself in the beginning of a homepage, I'll tell you something about myself. I am a fourth year graduate student in the Department of Mathematics here in Penn State. I am in my second year of PhD study after spending the first two years getting my MA degree. My undergraduate degree (from Penn State University as well) is in electrical engineering, with a minor in mathematics. In my spare times I am also (slowly) working on a MS degree in computer engineering. As a TA in the math department, I am teaching two sections of MATH 220 (Matrices), which have kept me quite busy. I also serves as the vice-president of the Penn State Math Club. My research interests are: computational and combinatorial number theory, cryptography, computer and network architectures, and parallel processing. Lately I am also exploring the interesting area of combinatorics.

Since it is fashionable to have one (or more) of one's picture available on-line (I guess so the entire world get to see how ugly the owner of the homepage is), I will indulge you with one of mine. However, since I don't have a decent picture of myself handy, and even if I do, I am too lazy to take it to the nearest scanner to scan it in, I will just use the existing resource. There is a picture of me at the Math Department's website under the graduate studies homepage. I should warn you that the picture is not exactly flattering (and it is over three years old). If you insist, you can see this ugly picture of me by clicking here.

Math 220 students: Go to Math 220 home page.

To see a picture of my evil twin, Dogbert, click here.
Or you can click here for another picture of this megalomaniacal canine.

Oh, my evil twin wants me to put this link up here: for all of you out there whose secret (or not-so-secret) amibition is to rule the world, you really need to read The Top 100 Things I'd Do If I Ever Became An Evil Overlord.

I am compiling a collection of jokes related to science and technology. There are not too many items in the page right now, but I am always looking for more jokes to add into it. Please feel free to let me know if you have some jokes of those types.
Go to Science and Technology jokes page.

I have put together a gymnastics biographical index page, containing links and an index, with short bios, of the world's top female gymnasts of the '90s - such as seven-time-Olympic-medalist Shannon Miller. There is also a gymnastics photo gallery containing scanned images of some of the top gymnasts of the world.

My very favorite gymnast has to be Henrietta Onodi of Hungary, who won a gold and a silver medals in 1992 Barcelona Olympics. I am maintaining a fan page of Henrietta:

While we are on the subject of gymnastics, do you know that there is a sixth box in Wheaties' 1996 Olympic-Champions'-picture promotional boxes series? No? Or you don't believe me? Well, I get an image of it right here, featuring "Lily Pod", a.k.a. the women's All-Around gymnastics gold medalist Lilia Podkopayeva of Ukraine.

Dilbert and Doctor Fun are the two on-line comics strips that I follow regularly. In Dilbert you will laugh to the silliness of the wacky corporative world, seeing from the eyes of cubicle-dwellers. It also features my evil twin, Dogbert, the super-intelligent megalomaniac canine. In Doctor Fun you will see geekier versions of Far Side type humor. Have a look!

Since I am a number theorist, I get to have some number theory related items here. Here is a link that cover the area of number theory that most people can understand, namely prime numbers. In the prime page you can find virtually everything you want to know (and more) about prime numbers.

Here is a page devoted to the great Indian mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan.
And here are the biographies of Ramanujan's two collaborators at Cambridge: G. H. Hardy and J. E. Littlewood

I plan to include links to some of my favorite TV shows. As a start, here is a link to cartoon's first family, the Simpsons.

The next is the link to the Doctor Who homepage, which contains a massive link list to other related sites. If you have not watched this show, you have missed a great Sci-fi series. By the way, my favorite Doctor is the third (played by the late Jon Pertwee), my favorite compainions are Lady Romana (1st incarnation, played by Mary Tamm), the little robot hound K-9 MK-II, and Sarah Jane Smith (Elizabeth Sladen).

One of my favorite new (well, compares to the rest) shows is XENA: warrior princess. If you are familiar with the classical mythology or history, the show will probably makes you cringe quite often, as its plots pay no heed whatsoever to the Greek mythology, or what we know about historical figures and events. And just exactly who died and made Xena a princess anyway? Nevertheless, it's a fantasy show that offers some diversions during the weekends (especially when you have nothing better to do). Besides, there is Renee O'Connor (who plays Xena's trusty sidekick, Gabrielle), that makes the show worth watching in my book all by herself.

The mega-villainess Callisto is fast becoming my favorite character on the show. (Yes, Darth Vader IS my favorite Star War character as well.) It just irks me when a show has happy endings on every episodes - what's the fun of that if you know ahead of the time that the good guys will always prevail in the end of every story? Further, I think Callisto (played Hudson Leick) has the potential to be a better Xena than Xena herself. Happily, a lot of other people are also Callisto fans. So now there are several fan pages devoted to her. Here are the links to two of the more notable ones

I am also a devoted fan of (gasp!) the Beverly Hills, 90210, having been watching the show since the second half of its first season (spring of 1991). If you are surprised by this fact, you don't know me well enough (grin). This show provides me a TV fix during the week.

Jennifer Walsh, a frequent contributor of BH90210 mailing list, has a wonderful web site devoted to BH90210. Her writings as well as her webpages are quite remarkable considering that she is only fourteen.

I have a large collection of video tapes containing many/most episodes of the above shows. So if you missed an episode of one of these shows, chances are that I have it on tape (whether I am going to lend you the tape is a different story though).
