HW 8 - Due Wednesday October 21st in class

This might take a little longer than the last couple of homeworks, so make sure you budget enough time. Motivation: it's all good stuff for mid-term 2 (that and the joy of learning math of course).

Questions from section 'Mechanical and Electrical Vibrations' - 9th edition section 3.7 (8th edition section 3.8)

A) qns. 1 and 4 'Determine w, R and delta' [4 marks each, total 8 marks]

B) qn. 6 'A mass of 100g stretches a spring 5cm......' [10 marks]

Hint: You can take gravity to be 10 m/s^2 (I guess the numbers will be messier if you let gravity be 9.8 m/s^2). For the final part, remember that sin(pi) = 0.

C) qn. 10 'A mass weighing 16lb stretches a spring 3 in....'  [15 marks]

D) qn. 17 'A mass weighing 8lb stretches a spring 1.5 in....' [5 marks]
