My current mathematical interests include partial differential equations and their applications in complex fluids. I am now studying and working under the guidance of Prof. Chun Liu.

Here are the projects I have finished or am working on:

  • Some existence results on a dissipative system modeling flows of nematic liquid crystals.

  • Modeling and numerical simulations on the dynamics of mixed fluids using phase field method.

  • Motions of particles immersed in viscous fluids.

Interests other than my thesis topic:

  • C/C++/Matlab programming;

  • Searching and adapting linear algebra package for middle/small scale (104 ~ 106) sparse matrix computation;

  • Stochastic calculus.

   I was also interested in matrix computations during my undergraduate studies at Fudan University and wrote a short note, which you can find in the publications below.

Publications:

On Energetic Variational Approaches in Modeling the Nematic Liquid Crystal Flows, with Chun Liu,  DCDS-A (2008).

A note on the PageRank algorithm,  with Yimin Wei, AMC (2006).
