I am Vivek Srikrishnan, a PhD student in the Department of Mathematics at Penn State since Fall 2004. My office is in 017 McAllister. From Fall 2000 through Summer 2004, I was an undergraduate student at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where I received dual degrees in mathematics and philosophy. In what free time I have, I read and play basketball and tennis, though I do make an effort to try to avoid too many unnecessary distractions (you may decide how to interpret "unnecessary," as I myself lack a consistent interpretation).

My advisor is Kris Wysocki. I'm interested in symplectic and contact topology, low-dimensional topology and dynamics. I'm also interested in trying to use topological methods in applied mathematics.
