| For a positive integer $N$, and a subset $\mathcal{A}$ (with size $|\mathcal{A}|\asymp\sqrt{N}$) of integers in $[0,N]$, we consider the distributions of $\mathcal{A}+\mathcal{A}$ and $\mathcal{A}-\mathcal{A}$ over some short intervals. The comparison or combination of such distributions produces improvement over the existing bounds for some classic sets of integers in combinatorial number theory. |
