Title: On a q-deformation of Picard theorem based on Askey-Wilson operator
Speaker: Edmund Chiang, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology
We show that there is a full function theory behind the Askey-Wilson operator. In particular, this leads to a difference type Picard-theorem only for the Askey-Wilson operator.

Title: Thermohaline flows in fractured porous media
Speaker: Gabriel Wittum, University of Frankfurt
Density driven and thermohaline flows can
show convection rolls, i.e. a kind of simplified
vortex formation. This plays a role in the
computation of these flows in fractured porous
media. We simulate the flows using an
adaptive finite volume algorithm. For the
representation of fractures, two approaches are
used, a full-dimensional and one with reduced
dimension. We derive a criterion for the
validity of the simplified representation and
present an algorithm using adaptive
