Talk Abstract
Combinatorics, Number Theory, and Modular Forms
Ken Ono, University of Wisconsin
The interplay between partition theory and modular forms
has a long history. Some of the deepest theorems in the subject regarding
congruences and asymptotics for partition functions follow from a detailed
study of the Fourier expansion of certain modular forms. In this general
lecture we shall describe new connections between
certain families of modular forms and other canonical objects in combinatorics
and number theory.
