Finite Element Circus, Fall 2006
Meeting time and location. The Fall 2006 edition of the Finite
Element Circus will be held on Friday, November 3 and Saturday,
November 4 at the Days Inn Penn
State at 240 South Pugh Street next to the Penn State, University Park campus in State College, Pennsylvania.
Organizers: Qiang Du, Wen Shen, Jinchao Xu, Ludmil Zikatanov, and Victor Nistor.
The Friday session will begin at 1:30pm sharp
(the talks will begin around 1:45 after the Ring Masters decide the
schedule). The Saturday session will begin at 9:00am. The circus will
end before 5:00pm on Saturday. Breakfast and lunch will be provided
on Saturday.

- Lodging. We have reserved a small block of
rooms at the Days Inn Penn State, 240 South Pugh
Street, State College, PA 16801, (814) 238-8454 or (800)
258-3297. Please mention the code FEMC (Finite Element Method
Circus) when making the reservation. Please make your reservation
beforel October 10 (the deadline has just been extended), to
ensure that you will find a room at the agreed rate ($75 single, $85
double). If they are completely booked, look
below on this page where we listed a few other hotels in the area.

Banquet. On Friday, November 3, 2006, there will be
a traditional chineese dinner banquet at the Golden Wok
restaurant, tel. 234 1102 (courtesy of Jinchao). The cost is $25. The
Golden Wok restaurant is at the intersection of College and Atherthon
Ave., about 10 min walk from the hotel (walk down on Pugh and then
take a left on College Ave.). If you plan to attend the banquet,
please make sure to register by filling fill out the above simple registration form as soon as
possible. You prefer that you pay the cost of the dinner to the
secretary (Mari Royer) when you arrive, but you can also pay at the
restaurant.
