MASS FEST CONFERENCE

PENN STATE UNIVERSITY

JULY 29-31, 2000

You are cordially invited to attend the Second Annual MASS FEST Conference at Penn State. MASS Program alumni will have the opportunity to share both MASS Program memories and their current mathematics endeavors. Summer REU participants will present their summer program research findings and there will be select guest lecturers including some of the former and future MASS instructors. The conference will be held at the University Park Campus, State College, PA. The format for participant presentations will be flexible: you may talk about your recent results, ongoing research, or simply some mathematical topic that excites you. There will be additional social activities.

A block of rooms have been reserved for the conference at the Sleep Inn, State College and we are offering to cover the financial cost of double room occupancy for three nights, daily meal allowance of $20.00 for three days, and a modest contribution towards your travel costs. Of course if you wish to room singly you may pay the difference in the cost. You may make hotel reservations through Sue Kutz, 814-865-7527 or . Please feel free to suggest a preferred roommate.

An intent form is attached for your use; you may simply email it to kutz@math.psu.edu. A preliminary deadline for responses has been set for June 1, 2000 however; the final deadline will be July 1, 2000.

This conference should be an enjoyable chance to rekindle old friendships and make some new ones too. We hope you plan to attend and look forward to seeing you all again.

Best regards,
