Abstract:
In this talk, I will go over some of the abasic theories of liquid crystals. I will emphasis on the coupling between the flow equation (conservation of momentum) and the director equation (balance law of the order parameter). We will establish the energy law (dissipation relation) and its relation to the constitutive equations. Some stability and regularity results will also be discussed in this talk.
