Abstract:
Harmonic map is an interesting topic in both differential geometry and liquid crystal modelings. It involves in minimizing an Oseen-Frank free energy which solution has point defects. We are interested in designing and analyzing algorithms to solve the problem and capture the singularities. An efficient multigrid method will be proposed and some interesting numerical results/graphs will be displayed.
