Pseudospectra of Berezin-Toeplitz Operators .

Abstract: The pseudospectrum is a tool in the numerical analysis of large matrices which are strongly non-normal. This talk describes joint work with A. Uribe in which we apply microlocal methods to understand the asymptotic properties of the pseudospectra of large matrices associated to Berezin-Toeplitz operators. By choosing an appropriate base manifold (e.g. the torus) one can regard classical Toeplitz matrices as Berezin-Toeplitz operators.
