| In this talk we discuss the history of the Liouville-Gelfand problem, a classic problem related to the existence of steady state solutions to a reaction-diffusion equation with an exponential reaction term. Recent related results for the $k$-Hessian (e.g., Monge-Ampere) operators will be discussed. |
