Title: Shrinkwrapping and the classification of Kleinian groups (joint with D. Gabai)

Abstract: We survey some recent developments in the theory of Kleinian groups which have led to a resolution of some of the biggest conjectures in the field, including the Geometrization Conjecture, the Ending Lamination Conjecture, and the Tameness Conjecture. Together this gives a complete classification of finitely generated discrete subgroups of PSL(2,C). We briefly discuss some ideas that are involved in the proof of the Tameness Conjecture.
