Title: Symmetry breaking and hallucinations

Abstract: We describe how natural symmetry assumptions about the V1 level of the visual cortex lead, through symmetry breaking bifurcations, to patterns that are similar to geometric hallucinations observed in real life (e.g., by drug users). One can see these results as a validation of the model considered for V1.
