Goals and Objectives

In this course the student will learn basic vector operations, vectur-valued functions, real-valued multivariable functions, and directional derivatives. More specifically, the student will,
  • efficiently perform scalar and vector product of 3-dimensional vectors;
  • succinctly describe a geometric object by vector functions and vice versa;
  • correctly calculate the gradient of a function with several variables;
  • accurately solve a maximum/minimum problem, using the method of Lagrange multipliers if necessary.
