Goals and Objectives
In this course the student will learn basic vector operations,
vectur-valued functions, real-valued multivariable
functions, and directional derivatives. More specifically, the student
will,
- efficiently perform scalar and vector product of
3-dimensional vectors;
- succinctly describe a geometric object by vector functions
and vice versa;
- correctly calculate the gradient of a function with several
variables;
- accurately solve a maximum/minimum problem, using the
method of Lagrange multipliers if necessary.
