Other Highlights
- Dmitri Dolgopyat and Vadim Kaloshin delivered Invited Lectiures at 2006 International Congress of Mathematicians in Zurich.
- Nigel Higson has been named Evan Pugh Professor of mathematics (Penn State's highest academic honor). He joins George Andrews and Paul Baum to make an unprecedented total of three Evan Pugh Professors in our department.
- Qiang Du has been appointed to the Willaman Chair in Mathematics (the first holder of this new endowed position).
- Alberto Bressan has been selected to receive the Antonio Feltrinelli Prize in Mathematics, Mechanics and Applications. This prize is awarded by the Accademia Nazionale dei Lincei, Italy's most prestigious scientific society.
