Graduate School Teaching Certificate

The Graduate School Teaching Certificate is awarded by the Penn State Graduate School. The Graduate School has a special set of requirements for math GTAs because of our specialized GTA training program.

The following requirements must be met for a GTA in the Math department to receive this award:

  1. Earn the Teaching Associate Certificate from the Math department.
  2. Successfully complete the Penn State Course in College Teaching
  3. Earn the Teaching with Technology Certificate from the Graduate School

After meeting these requirements, a GTA should ask the Math department Associate Head for Graduate Studies to contact the Graduate School; the Graduate School will then award the Teaching Certificate.
