The conference is supported by a grant from the US National Science Foundation, with additional support from the Penn State Department of Mathematics.
We shall be able to provide financial support to cover or partially cover the travel and local expenses of many conference participants. Priority will be given to graduate students, postdoctoral researchers, and participants without other means of support. If you would like to apply for support, then please indicate this on the registration form. Funding requests will be evaluated starting in September. We encourage those who will be asking for support to plan to share hotel accommodations during the meeting. If you would like assistance in arranging shared accommodation, then please indicate this in the comment section of the registration form. Non-US nationals who intend to apply for support should be advised that according to U.S. immigration laws, travelers who enter the U.S. and wish to be reimbursed for any travel-related expenses will require a B1, WB or J1 visa (WT and B2 visas do not permit reimbursement of any expenses). We encourage you to contact your local U.S. embassy or U.S. consulate to find out more about visa rules pertaining to reimbursements. Staff at Penn State will also be glad to assist you. In addition, travelers by air will generally only be eligible for reimbursement of airfare if a U.S. flag carrier (i.e. a U.S. based airline) has been used. |
