Dynamics of a bouncing ball
We consider a ball moving in a potential U(x)=x^c
and bouncing elastically off periodically moving
infinitely heavy horizontal plate. We address the
question how large is the set of trajectories for
which velocity during successive collisions tends
to infinity.
