Volume bounds on 3-spheres
We will consider two isoperimetric questions on the 3
dimensional sphere. Is the volume V bounded below by the length L of
the shortest closed geodesic? Is the volume bounded below by the
minimum distance D between a pair of antipodal points? We will show
that the answer to the second question is no, and that V is bounded
below by min{L, 2D}.
