Just some websites that I either am responsible for, visit often, find useful or worthwhile, or simply plastered up here for some inscrutable reason:
  • My blog
  • A site I made to post pictures and stories from a trip we made over spring break in 2006, volunteering down in Louisiana to help rebuild after Hurricane Katrina.
  • News sources:  I usually cycle between the BBC, the CBC, and the NY Times.

  • Reference:  Wikipedia continues to be amazing.

  • Most Friday nights, you can find me hanging out at UCM -- United Campus Ministry, possibly wearing a fake beard or a pair of galoshes.

  • "From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked." (Luke 12:48)

We who are fortunate enough to be financially secure have an obligation to help those who work hard, but still face difficulties and uncertainties beyond their control; one organisation which helps us fulfill this obligation is Kiva, which I've become involved with as a lender.

  • "Is this not the kind of fasting I have chosen: to loose the chains of injustice and untie the cords of the yoke, to set the oppressed free and break every yoke?  Is it not to share your food with the hungry and to provide the poor wanderer with shelter - when you see the naked, to clothe him, and not to turn away from your own flesh and blood?"  (Isaiah 58:6-7)

Along the same lines, there are many organisations doing very important work with the hungry, the poor, and the oppressed.  They need our support in order to do that work; Africare, the Red Cross, and Mennonite Disaster Service are some that I trust to put any donations I make to good use.
