Math 35
A Survey of Mathematical Thought
Summer 2006
Assignment 5
Due Friday, July 21, at the beginning of class. There will be
a quiz on Friday as well.
Chapter 2 exercises, p. 27-30, #9, 10, 18, 26, 41.
As always, be sure to show your work and justify your answers for full
points - a correct answer with no justification shown will not receive
full credit.
Also, two of the questions on this assignment (18 and 41) are more
conceptual - rather than simply calculating an answer, you are to
explain why a particular result is true. Feel free to ask me if
you have any difficulties with these. (Or any other questions,
for that matter...)
There are four points available for each question, so
20 is a perfect score on this assignment.
