The following problems should be done before the quiz next Friday (January 20) - only odd-numbered exercises throughout, which will allow you to check your answers in the solutions manual, if you have it.  (While the textbook is required for this course, the solutions manual is optional, and is a convenience rather than a necessity).

Again, this assignment (as with all of them) is not to be turned in, but will help you greatly in preparing for the quiz on Friday the 20th.
