Title: Hoelder currents, cocycles and limit probability distributions for horocycle flows. Working Seminar: Dynamics and its Working Tools Giovanni Forni, University of Maryland This is the second lecture form the DISTINGUISHED VISITING PROFESSOR LECTURE SERIES INVARIANT DISTRIBUTIONS AND RENORMALIZATION IN PARABOLIC DYNAMICS.'' =================================================== We describe joint work with A. Bufetov which builds upon the material presented in Lecture 1. We discuss basic currents associated with invariant distributions, construct dual currents which are then interpreted in terms of cocycles for the horocycle flow. Such cocycles yield all limit probability distributions of (normalized) ergodic integrals of horocycle flows, in particular we can prove that limit probability distributions exist (and have compact support) for generic smooth functions on pinched compact hyperbolic surfaces.
