| Title: | The Bernstein decomposition in equivariant homology |
| Seminar: | Noncommutative Geometry Seminar |
| Speaker: | Tyrone Crisp, Penn State |
| Abstract: |
| The Bernstein decomposition describes how the representations of a reductive p-adic group G are organised according to parabolic induction. The Baum-Connes conjecture (which is known to be true for such groups) implies that there is a corresponding decomposition in the equivariant homology for the action of G on its affine Bruhat-Tits building, and this decomposition will be the subject of this talk. |
