| Title: | A framework for generalizing pseudoholomorphic invariants |
| Seminar: | GAP Seminar |
| Speaker: | Aaron Smith, University of Pennsylvania |
| Abstract: |
| I will discuss recent work towards developing a framework which
generalizes the theory of pseudoholomorphic curves. Ultimately this
is a description of a theory of maps satisfying a particular PDE
describing the intertwining of geometric structures on the domain and
target manifolds. Such maps carry topological data and minimize a
related energy functional. This topic is closely related to
calibrated geometry, exceptional holonomy, and the theory of
quasi-regular mappings. |
