Title:Hyperbolic Conservation Laws Modeling Collective Behaviors
Seminar:Applied Analysis Seminar
Speaker:Rinaldo M. Colombo,, University of Brescia, Italy
Abstract:
First, this presentation reviews results on the well-posendess of conservation laws. On this basis, some crowd dynamics models are introduced and their main qualitative properties discussed. Then, recent results on mixed systems are considered. Various realistic situations lead to hyperbolic conservation laws coupled with ordinary differential equations. Particular situations dealing with the interactions between a single agent and a continuum will be considered. Examples range from the magic piper of Hamelin to flocks of birds or of sheep.
