| About one month ago, Krishna Alladi delivered a talk at the PSU Algebra and Number Theory Seminar entitled "Partitions with non-repeating odd parts". There he noted that "Partitions with non-repeating even parts have been extensively studied especially because of their role in the fundamental Lebesgue identity. Comparitively little is known about partitions with non-repeating odd parts." In this talk, I will expand on Alladi's comments about the relative lack of knowledge about partitions with non-repeating odd parts, especially from the arithmetic perspective, and then state and prove several congruence properties satisfied by partitions with non-repeating odd parts which have been proven since Alladi's visit to PSU. This work was completed in collaboration with Mike Hirschhorn of the University of New South Wales. |
