| I'll discuss the problem of embedding a singular Poisson variety into affine space. More precisely, given such a variety X, I'll describe an (in general quite difficult) procedure for extending the Poisson bracket to a formal neighborhood of X. Combined with the semi-linearization techniques developed by Dufour/Zung and Wade, this procedure will reveal obstructions to extending the Poisson bracket on a certain family of quotient varieties. |
