Title:Martin boundaries and Dirichlet forms for some fractal sets
Seminar:Seminar on Probability and its Application
Speaker:Manfred Denker, PSU
Abstract:
Certain quotients of shift spaces are representable as fractal sets satisfying the open set condition. The talk will show by example 1) how to represent a fractal set as a Martin boundary 2) how to introduce Dirichlet forms which permit to define Laplacians and harmonic functions. Connected to this is a generalization of the Gauss-Green formula on fractal sets. The work is in collaboration with H. Sato, A. Imai and S. Koch; it also overlaps partly with work by J. Kigami.
