| In this talk we will explore the thermodynamic formalism of countable
Markov shifts exhibiting transience. The main goal will be to construct a conformal measure for locally compact transient shifts using some insight from the
theory of Martin boundaries for Markov chains; examples will be given where
it is non-unique (corresponding to a "phase transition" for the system). We
will also defi ne a generalized thermodynamic limit and examine some of its
properties. |
