Title:Injective selectors, pointed trees, and randomness
Seminar:Logic Seminar
Speaker:John Clemens, Pennsylvania State University
A number of theorems in topology and analysis concern the existence of selectors for plane sets. In particular, suitably large plane sets admit injective selectors with large domain and range. A special case of this concerns uniformly branching trees which contain branches of high Turing complexity. We will discuss relations between algorithmic randomness and such trees.
