| Motivated by problems in the biomedical industry, we propose and analyze a balance law model of polymer gel dynamics. The general model is linearized in a special way and we obtain a mixed parabolic-elliptic system of equations. A mixed finite element method based on the Taylor-Hood algorithm is described, and stability and convergence properties are proved. |
