| Title: | Orthogonal polynomials, mock theta functions and q-identities, Part III |
| Seminar: | Combinatorics/Partitions Seminar |
| Speaker: | Dr. George Andrews, Penn State |
| Abstract: |
| In my first two talks on this topic I dealt with a new proof of a theorem near the end of my paper "Parity in Partition Identities." The theorem provided a q-series expansion that contained the Rogers-Ramanujan identities and a fifth order mock theta function expansion as special cases. The original focus was on the little q-Jacobi polynomial. This talk will be devoted to new results utilizing other q-orthogonal polynomials. Among other things we shall consider partitions in which only "middle" parts might repeat. |
