| Systems of reaction-diffusion partial differential equations describe front propagation in combustion theory, chemistry, astrophysics, biology, ecology, physiology among others. For example, propagation of forest fires or biological invasions in ecosystems. In such examples reaction and diffusion processes occur in a non-homogeneous medium. How does it affect the front propagation? |
