|Title:||A generalized Fredholm and the Gromov-Witten example I and II|
|Seminar:||Symplectic Topology Seminar|
|Speaker:||Helmut Hofer, Courant Institute, NY University|
|Abstract: In this two-lecture series I will describe a
very general nonlinear
Fredholm theory which works in spaces much more general than
Banach manifolds. The main point of such a generalization is that
many interesting Floer-type theories which usually can only be
in an adhoc fashion allow a more conceptual approach.
Some of the ideas will be explained in the context of Gromov-Witten
