| We show that a Riemannian manifold of dimension at least 3 can be recovered from the space of "loops" equipped with "filling area" distance (the distance between two loops is the area of an area minimizing "cylinder" connecting them). We will also discuss some approaches to studying more general (and vaguely defined) ``spaces with area structures''. | |
