| In this talk, I will report some recent work for the mathematical
understanding of quasicontinuum method, which is among the most
successful multiscale methods for modeling the mechanical
deformation of solids. The stability and accuracy of nonlocal
quasicontinuum method will be discussed, and extensions to certain
force based methods will also be covered. In particular,
we will focus on the ghost-force problem in quasicontinuum
method.
