| Title: | The Alon Boppana Theorem on the Bruhat-Tits building PGL_n |
| Seminar: | Algebra and Number Theory Seminar |
| Speaker: | Ming-Hsuan Kang, Penn State University |
| Abstract: |
| The celebrated Alon Boppana theorem describes the spectral relations between a family of finite k-regular graphs and their universal cover, a k-regular tree. However, this theorem fails for k-regular directed graphs in general. In this talk, we will investigate random walks on the regular directed graphs arising from the Bruhat-Tits building PGL_n and prove the Alon Boppana theorem for this special directed graphs. |
