| This is a warm-up lecture for Murat Gunaydin's GAP seminar next week. I shall give a very elementary and entirely mathematical introduction to the oscillator representation and Howe's notion of a dual pair of subgroups of the symplectic group. I shall follow Howe's paper "Dual pairs in physics: harmonic oscillators, photons, electrons and singletons." |
