| We revisit the notion of covering dimension for a topological space,
and explain how it can be taken to a noncommutative framework.
One obtains several reasonable versions of noncommutative covering
dimension, which play fundamental roles in various parts of C*-algebra theory. There are striking applications to the classification of minimal
dynamical systems, as well as promising connections to coarse geometry. |
