| We discuss the group G(M) of strictly contact homeomorphisms of a contact manifold M. This group contains as a proper sub-group the group of strict contact diffeomorphisms. If the contact form on M is regular, G(M) is a central extension of the group of hamiltonian homeomrphism of the manifold B = M/S quotient of M by the flows of the Reeb field of the regular contact form.
