| Abstract
Nowadays the size of deta sets usually is very large. It is
difficult to to compute a smooth spline interpolation or
fitting surface directly. To overcome this difficulty, we
propose a domain decomposition method. For a given data set
of large size, we divide the underlying domain into several
smaller subdomains and compute data fitting surfaces over subdomains
and then piece them together to get a global fitting surface.
We will show that the surface by domain decomposition method
is convergent to the surface by the direct method as the subdomains
overlap and the diameters of subdomains increase. |
