| This second talk will be concerned with evolution problems
where the flow is not contractive w.r.t. the natural distance generated by a norm,
and where continuous dependence cannot be obtained by a Gronwall type argument.
In this case, some results on well posedness can be achieved by introducing
a weighted distance, possibly generated by a Riemann type metric.
Examples will be discussed, including the Hunter-Saxton and the Camassa-Holm equations,
and a second order variational wave equation. |
