| Title: | Fluid limits of many-server queues with delayed feedback and differentiated patience times |
| Seminar: | Seminar on Probability and its Application |

| Abstract: |
| We consider a non-Markovian many-server queueing model in which customers may reenter for additional service after some random delay, customers may abandon if their patience time limits are reached while waiting in queue, and the patience levels of new and feedback customers are differentiated. Under mild conditions on the general service and patience time distributions, we establish a measure-valued fluid model approximation for the system dynamics. We further derive the steady state performance measures and analyze the impact of impatience differentiation. In addition, we design an algorithm to compute the transient measure-valued system dynamics when the arrival rate function is time-varying. (This is joint work with Weining Kang, UMBC.) |
